The Golden Joystick Awards is world’s second oldest gaming award ceremony (after the Arcade Awards) and it took place in London today.
Rockstar’s open world, action-adventure, Grand Theft Auto V won Game of the Year, while Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic third-person survival action-adventure, The Last of Us bagged three awards. Check out the full list below:

The site wouldn’t let me choose The Last of Us for Best Visual Design therefore I demand a recount! They amount of detail in that game is insane. Still can’t believe GTA won GOTY over Last of Us but then again TLoU is a PS3 exclusive so I guess the numbers wouldn’t have added up anyway.

GTA has won, because its GTA, The Last of Us has more beautiful Design than Bioshock, and its better than GTA (THE LAST OF COURSE). Fuck this Shit!

…as far as game design goes, I am at least in a partial agreement with GJ; Bioshock Infinite does boast a very creative world, but game of the year is CERTAINLY not Grand Theft Auto 5.

GTA V only won because it was so popular. But I’m not sure a rehashed sequel with dozens of technical issues should qualify.
