Aliens: Colonial Marines, Assassin’s Creed III, Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3 are among the games that will be on hand at Boston’s PAX East games expo, April 6-8.
2K Games and Gearbox Software is bringing in Borderlands 2 demo at their booth on the show floor. The demo features “Caustic Caverns” map, and you can play as either the brand spankin’ new Gunzerker class or the new and improved Siren.
2K Games PAX East 2012 Lineup also includes Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Civilization V: Gods & Kings.
A recent interview with studio boss Randy Pitchford on the Vox Games website indicates that the multiplayer mode for Aliens: Colonial Marines will also make a splash, while the team that made PS3 and 360 download Shoot Many Robots will be tweaking their game based on PAX East fan feedback.
PC strategy specialist Paradox steps into the action genre with War of the Roses, a medieval civil war multiplayer hack ’em up, and The Showdown Effect, next project from the team behind Magika.
Ubisoft is also bringing up a number of its upcoming titles. The line-up includes Assassin’s Creed III, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and Far Cry 3.
Assassin’s Creed III won’t be playable but a exclusive gameplay footage will be shown in a fully-enclosed theater at the booth. Session attendees will also receive a special-edition Assassin’s Creed III-branded item.
PAX East attendees will have the chance to play Far Cry 3 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Tattoo artist Suze, from The Hourglass Tattoo Parlor in Boston, will be offering Far Cry fans a unique opportunity to obtain real tattoos from a selection of tribal designs inspired by the game.
For those that aren’t ready to commit to a tattoo, there will also be two Far Cry 3 mohawk stations on Saturday and Sunday where visitors can get mohawk haircuts in the same style of the game’s feature villain, Vaas. People who obtain a tattoo or mohawk at Ubisoft’s booth will also receive a Far Cry 3 tank top, modeled after the very one Vaas sports in-game. Ubisoft can be found at booths 824 and 836.
PAX East 2012 is scheduled for April 6–8, during Easter Weekend, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

So wheres the ACIII gameplay footage? O_o
There’s just too many quality games coming out the past few years to buy them all, and by the looks of it that trend isn’t slowing down any. That’s why I started using Blockbuster @Home as soon as my employer, DISH, released it. It’s kind of a multifaceted service with instant streaming, a bunch of movie channels, and video game and movie rentals by-mail. Although we rarely end up renting movies because I feel like I get such a great value out of renting the games. I mean, at $60 a pop (and I can easily go through 2-3 games a month) and it adds up fast—compare that to $10 a month and it’s an easy choice.
I just wanna see more AC III ! Thats all I need for now !
