Due to an analyst from Stern Agee, Battlefield 3 should present a land mine for Call of Duty franchise. According to the Arvind Bhatia, an analyst from Stern Agee, Battlefield 3 presents a “risk factor” for the upcoming Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Both of those shooters are aiming on the same target audience and are going to fight for any single customer once they get released.

Game Analyst : Battlefield 3 Considered A Risk Factor For Modern Warfare 3 6

In a note to investors, Activision’s Modern Warfare 3 is getting high praise from Stern Agee’s Arvind Bhatia. The “very impressive” closing chapter of the Modern Warfare storyline will “probably” out-do its 2010 predecessor Black Ops, the analyst believes. Regardless, EA and DICE’s challengerBattlefield 3 is deemed a risk factor for the Call of Duty franchise in general.

“Battlefield 3; game looks good,” writes the analyst, expecting it “could take some market share from the Call of Duty franchise”.

Although every single game analyst so far predicted that Modern Warfare 3 will outsell Battlefield 3, Gamestop and other game retailers confirmed that Battlefield 3 currently sells better.

Conclusion should be that it is still too early to predict anything and we should wait and see if analyst were wrong or Call of Duty franchise is still a king of FPS games.

Battlefield 3 launches in late October while Modern Warfare 3 launches in early November.
