20th Century Fox is so confident about their upcoming American superhero film, Deadpool that they have issued a greenlight for a sequel, according to THR.
Writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick will return to pen Deadpool 2. There is no word from director, Tim Miller’s return yet, but Fox is keen on keeping the same creative team together.
The film pre-release tracking in the United States and Canada suggests the film will open to about $55–65 million from 3,557 theaters during its four-day Presidents’ Day weekend and a added benefit of playing across 374 IMAX screens and 475 premium large format screens.
Deadpool has received positive reviews from critics and audiences with 82% rating based on 67 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 6.9/10. 66% rating based on 28 critics on Metacritic.

Deadpool is scheduled for February 12, 2016 release in IMAX and premium large formats.
