According to USA Today, Spider-Man: Homecoming beings with Peter Parker returning to his normal life in Queens after being recruited by Stark for Captain America: Civil War.

“He literally just went to Europe with the coolest clique of them all. And now he’s back with the academic decathlon and the mathletes and going, ‘What am I doing here?’”, said co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll.

Previous Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield started off with him getting powers through a radioactive spider bite and then it goes on from there, but Homecoming is skipping that backstory.

The studios wanted to focus on Peter’s life as a “teen crushing on girls and navigating his formative years, albeit with really cool abilities.”

“This is really a movie where Spider-Man’s not the finished article. He really does learn and he makes massive mistakes.

It’s nice to see a kid do that and then try to rectify those mistakes,” said Holland.

Peter is still figuring out the suit he received from Stark and the suit we say in Civil War “can do a lot more than he even realizes right now, In the film, you begin to see just how much Tony Stark loves bells and whistles,” said president of Marvel Studios Feige.

Feige also revealed that we are getting two trailers – domestic and international with few different shots and lines of dialogue between them. “Enough where I thought it would be fun for people to see both,”

Holland also talked about Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes / Vulture, “The first time we see the Vulture is terrifying. It’s like a horror movie: really scary, very intense and shocking.”

The cast features Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as The Vulture, Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal, and Zendaya as Michelle.

Directed by Jon Watts, produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.

Screenplay by John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein, Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The cast also includes Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), Martin Starr, Angourie Rice, Jacob Batalon, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J. J. Totah, Hannibal Buress, Selenis Leyva, Abraham Attah, Michael Mando, Garcelle Beauvais, Tiffany Espensen, and Martha Kelly.
