The first photos from Marvel‘s Thor: Ragnarok featuring Hela, Valkyrie, Thor, Loki and more have been revealed.
The film features the return of Chris Hemsworth as crown prince of Asgard & God of Thunder, Thor with Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s adoptive brother, Loki; Idris Elba as the Asgardian sentry of the Bifröst Bridge, Heimdall and Sir Anthony Hopkins as king of Asgard, father of Thor, and adoptive father of Loki, Odin.
Hemsworth explains why Thor doesn’t have his long locks anymore: “It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning.
It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character.”
He goes on to talk about the alien planet Sakaar, “[it is] basically where every wormhole across the universe dumps out its trash, so you get people from all walks of life with all sorts of incredible abilities and powers.
No one cares what prince or king Thor may have been in another world. Also, his strength is pretty easily matched with those he finds himself amongst.”
New cast features Cate Blanchett as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as classic hero Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge and Mark Ruffalo reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange.
Kevin Feige will produce the film, joined by executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee.
Thor: Ragnarok is set for November 3, 2017 release.
