Warner Bros. Pictures’s upcoming American action adventure film, The Legend of Tarzan‘s lead characters’ first look photos are online.
The photos feature Alexander Skarsgård as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke / Tarzan and Margot Robbie as Jane Porter.

Most of the Tarzan adaptions followed the source material and start things off with a small orphan who was raised by an ape, believing that this was his family, but on an expedition Jane Porter is rescued by Tarzan and then finds out that he’s human.
But director, David Yates’ The Legend of Tarzan puts a new spin to the character. This time the film starts with Tarzan leading his life in Victorian England with his wife, Jane, leaving the Jungle behind.
A decade later he goes back to the Congo as an emissary of Parliament, where his wife and old family and friends are put in danger.
“It’s almost the opposite of the classic tale, where it’s about taming the beast, Skarsgård told USAToday.
This is about a man who’s holding back and slowly as you peel off the layers, he reverts back to a more animalistic state and lets that side of his personality out.”
The film also stars Christoph Waltz as Captain Leon Rom, Samuel L. Jackson as George Washington Williams, Djimon Hounsou as Chief Mbonga.
Directed David Yates & co-produced with Jerry Weintraub, and written by Stuart Beattie, Craig Brewer, John Collee, and Adam Cozad.
The Legend of Tarzan is scheduled for release on July 1, 2016 in 3D and IMAX 3D.
