Square Enix revealed a new Final Fantasy XV Moogle gameplay.

In Final Fantasy XV, Moogle appear as a lucky iteam. Take Moogle dolls and goods as your lucky charm to help avoid all kids of troubles.
Maybe Moogle will help out when Noctis and his friends are in a tight spot.
Moogles are used to distract the enemies, it acts as a decoy, as enemies focus on it and attack Moogle instead of you, it lasts for a while until it is destroyed. Only few enemies are immune to the decoy effect.
Storyline:
“Enroute to wed his fiancée Luna on a road trip with his best friends, Prince Noctis is advised by news reports that his homeland has been invaded and taken over under the false pretense of a peace treaty – and that he, his loved one and his father King Regis, have been slain at the hands of the enemy.

Final Fantasy XV launches on November 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
