Ubisoft’s upcoming open world first-person shooter, Far Cry 4 will include “a lot more multiplayer” than their predecessor Far Cry 3, according to CEO Yves Guillemot.
“We are working on launching games that will be played for a longer time. This will allow us to do more DLC [and] item-based sales in those games,” said Guillemot.
Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez adds, “We are moving to make games that are extended over longer periods, so in those games, we not only want to sell more [units], but we want to sell more items, more content.
That’s one of the challenges of course, but that’s what we’re seeing some other players have successfully done.”
“Players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king.
Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.”
Far Cry 4 will release on November 18 in North America and November 20, 2014 in Europe for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
