2K and Turtle Rock Studios will run Evolve open beta on Xbox One, a closed technical test on PC & PlayStation 4.
The exclusive Xbox One open beta begins at 6AM ET on Thursday, January 15. “Players will have access to Hunt mode with access to two monsters (Goliath and Kraken) and first eight hunters (Markov, Maggie, Val, Hank, Hyde, Griffin, Lazarus, and Bucket) across all 12 maps that support ‘Hunt’.
On Jan 17th Xbox One players will gain access to Evacuation, a dynamic campaign that combines the full array of maps and modes into a unique and highly replayable experience. All Hunter and Monster characters unlocks during beta will be carried over to the final version of the game.
An open beta for PC & PS4 players will not be available, instead a “smaller closed technical test” will be carried out.
Starting Jan 16th, PC players who were part of Big Alpha will have access to closed technical test and if you own Left 4 Dead or BioShock Infinite in your Steam library, you will have the option to participate in closed technical test.
Starting Jan 17th, PS4 players who were part of Big Alpha will receive an email to participate in the closed technical test (PlayStation Plus membership required).
The PC and PS4 limited closed technical test on will not include Evacuation nor the unlocks will carry over to final release. The tests will run until January 19.
2K also announced all-new way to experience Evolve offline. “Every character, every map, and every mode in Evolve can be experienced entirely offline as a solo player competing against computer-controlled opponents.
Whether playing as the Monster, or hot-swapping between an entire team of four Hunters, Evolve’s unique blend of 4v1 gameplay is particularly enjoyable alone when playing the dynamic campaign, Evacuation, which combines the full array of maps and modes into a highly replayable experience.
“2K and Turtle Rock Studios are creating much more than just a competitive multiplayer experience, said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.
Evolve’s addictive and replayable 4v1 gameplay formula creates intense gaming moments whether you enjoy playing alone offline, cooperatively with friends against AI, or competitively against others online.”
Evolve is set to release on February 10, 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
