Eminem is torn apart by love in new music video for “Space Bound”

Well, it’s been a good while since Eminem dropped his acclaimed reboot album Recovery, and despite the Bad Meets Evil buBusiness, he’s still riding that horse, finally releasing the full visuals for the track “Space Bound” that’s been dripping behind the scenes footage from the faucet for forever now.

The Joseph Kahn-directed video, shot in February, features the rapper battling his demons, which ultimately ends with shocking results.

The song, similar to the theme of his previous hit “Love The Way You Lie,” tells the story of a relationship where the rapper would do anything to keep his girl in his life before it ends.

Eminem has two characters in the video, the heat-broken boyfriend who seeks revenge on his girlfriend, and that of an observer who watches the whole saga unfold. Eminem, as the boyfriend, confronts Sasha, then strangles her, as she gasps for air.

The video gets even more violent when Eminem takes a gun and shoots a bullet through his head–with blood spraying everywhere.

And it’s not just the imagery which is violent. So are the lyrics:  “I’m trying to stop you from breathing, I put both hands on your throat, I sit on top of you squeezing…Tears stream down both of my cheeks, then I let you just go and just give…And before I put that gun to my temple I told you this.”

The video essentially follows the love-lost-etcetera theme of the song as would be expected, and pulls off fine, so check it out below, throw up your thoughts
