During its investor call, EA revealed that they are indeed working on a new Dead Space title, set to arrive in 2013 and Need for Speed game before the end of this year.
EA referenced the Sequels during an investor call when it said: “At the foundation is another year of blockbuster brands: Madden NFL, FIFA, Sim City, Medal of Honor, Dead Space, and Need for Speed as well as mobile hits like The Simpsons Tapped Out, and Bejeweled.”
Both titles will launch this fiscal year (ends March 31st 2013) with the next Need for Speed expected to release in Q3, which would be any time between October and Christmas this year. It is unclear as to whether Criterion or Black Box will be developing the title this year.
“There’s no further information but watch for several big product announcements from EA at E3 in June,” a spokesperson said. It’s unclear if this is Dead Space 3 or a different game in the series.
EA is rumored to be developing Dead Space 3 from Visceral Games. The game was first revealed last September by an Israeli news show featuring what appeared to be leaked artwork.
A report from last year suggests the game will take place on an ice planet called Tau Volantis, where protagonist Isaac is on a rescue mission he’s reluctantly accepted because there’s a warrant out for his arrest.
If EA comes to E3 2012 with a Dead Space 3 announcement, what would you like to see from the game that could save the series?
