Studio Canal released a teaser trailer for The Double, an upcoming comedy film directed by Richard Ayoade, based on the novella The Double by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mia Wasikowska, Wallace Shawn, Noah Taylor, Rade Serbedzija, Gemma Chan, Cathy Moriarty, James Fox, Yasmin Paige, Nathalie Cox, Phyllis Somerville & Tony Rohr.
Plot:
“Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance.
James is both Simons exact physical double and his opposite – confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simons horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.”
The Double made its debut at Toronto International Film Festival on 7 September, 2013. It will release in UK on April 4, 2014 and a limited theatrical release in US on May 9, 2014.
