Doom 4 has been ‘indefinitely postponed’ Bethesda and Zenimax made the decision,  as a issues surrounding Rage reviews. That’s according to a source, id and Bethesda may be looking to push back Doom 4, as reported by Kotaku.

The source says that Zenimax and Bethesda made the decision based on “the issues and reviews” surrounding Rage’s launch which for them shows “a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id.”

“We don’t comment on unannounced games and DOOM 4 hasn’t been announced (though I appreciate that id has previously referenced DOOM 4),” Hines said. “Games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise.”

The reviews of Rage have at least raised a number of serious questions about id Software’s latest title. While a number of these comments in the reviews might be nothing more than the reviewer’s perception of the title, a case could be made for the title not living up to the playability hype while the actual engine does deliver the goods.

Rumour - Doom 4 Postponed 1

Anyway, what’s more important, is that this unnamed source claims that Zenimax and Bethesda decided to delay the game indefinitely due to “the issues and reviews” tied to Rage, the company’s recently release shooter Rage.

At the moment the news is entirely unconfirmed, meaning this is all just rumour at the moment.
