Marvel Studios revealed a new Doctor Strange Universes Within featurette, which digs deep into the history, background, and inspiration behind Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

One of the things we have been hearing a lot from the team behind Doctor Strange is their deep respect towards American comic book artist and writer, Steve Ditko.

Ditko is best known as the artist and co-creator, with Stan Lee, of the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man, and as creator of the supernatural hero Doctor Strange.

He is responsible for all the mind-bending, trippy art from the 60’s comics and all that has been implemented in Marvel’s upcoming superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character, Doctor Strange.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Rachel McAdams, Baron Mordo, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, Amy Landecker, Scott Adkins.

“Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions.

Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.”

Directed by Scott Derrickson with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill.

Produced by Kevin Feige. The film is intended to be the fourteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4, 2016 in 3D and IMAX 3D.
