Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ American superhero film, Doctor Strange grossed an estimated $32.6 million on Friday from 3,882 theaters.

The film is headed for $80+ million box office debut in North America. It is on track to surpass previous Marvel superhero debut: Captain America: The First Avenger ($65.1 million), Thor ($65.7 million) and Ant-Man ($57.2 million).

Doctor Strange is soaring beyond early non-Disney estimates of $50 – 75 million in its opening weekend.

As of November 4, 2016, Doctor Strange has grossed $32.6 million in North America and $132.9 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $165.5 million, against a budget of $165 million.

20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Animation’s American 3D computer-animated musical buddy comedy film, Trolls debuted with an estimated $12.3 million on Friday from 4,060 theaters, on its way for an $44 million opening weekend.

As of November 4, 2016, it has grossed $12.3 million in North America and $69 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $81.2 million, against a budget of $125 million.

Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment’s American biographical war film, Hacksaw Ridge pulled an estimated $5.22 million from 2,886 theaters on Friday, expected to finish its opening weekend with $14+ million on third place in North America.

All three of this weekend’s new wide releases received an “A” CinemaScore from opening day audiences.
