Since Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man is no longer in MCU, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange joins Spider-Man 3 to mentor Peter Parker.

We all know how Robert Downey Jr. was mentoring Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming and then Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home, since Iron Man is laid to rest and Nick Fury well he is on a vacation in space with the Skrulls.

And now apparently Peter still needs a mentor and that spot would be taken up by Dr. Stephen Strange, according to THR.

Jon Watts will return to direct the threequel for Sony Pictures and Marvel, the production is scheduled to kick off later this month and last until February 2021 in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York City, and Iceland.

Spider-Man: Far From Home writers, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will work on the script for the movie and the production will be handled by Kevin Feige.

Most of the cast from the series are set to return including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori and J.K. Simmons.

Jamie Foxx joins the series from Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Electro.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to be arrive in theaters on December 17, 2021.
