Marvel Studios will be giving an exclusive Doctor Strange poster for fans attending San Diego Comic-Con.
The poster created by artist Ryan Meinerding features Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme, check it out below!
In an interview with EW, Cumberbatch addressed the similarities between his character Sherlock Holmes on BBC’s Sherlock to the character he plays in Marvel’s Doctor Strange:
“The two men are intelligent.’Finito.’ That’s it. Stephen Strange is a lover, he’s a materialist, he’s arrogant, but he’s got a great sense of humor.
There are smatterings of the same colors that Sherlock has, but he’s not on the spectrum.”
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Rachel McAdams, Baron Mordo, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, Amy Landecker, Scott Adkins.
“Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions.
Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.”
Directed by Scott Derrickson with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill.
Produced by Kevin Feige. The film is intended to be the fourteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4, 2016 in 3D and IMAX 3D.
