Activision and Bungie has confirmed that the beta for their upcoming online multiplayer action role-playing first-person shooter, Destiny will begin on July 17 for PlayStation and July 23 for Xbox.

“Explore the vast expanses of the world of Destiny, fight through riveting story missions, strike deep within enemy strongholds alongside a fireteam, or compete for glory against your fellow Guardians in the action-packed competitive multiplayer.”

The fans who pre-order the game at a participating retailer are guaranteed access into the beta. It first hits on PlayStation 4 (PS+ required for some features) and PlayStation 3 at 17:00pm on 17th July.

Beta hits Xbox One and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Gold required, subject to change) at 17:00pm on 23rd July.

Destiny Beta will be offline for scheduled maintenance on 21st July – 22nd July and It will be online again until 06:59am on 28th July.

“As we prepare to launch our first Beta on multiple console platforms around the world, we are excited and eager to open the flood gates,” said Harold Ryan, Bungie’s president.

“We already love to play Destiny and with your help we can be ready for our launch in September.”

Destiny will release on September 9, 2014 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
