Acclaimed comic book writer/artist and game developer, best known for his work on Marvel Comics’ Uncanny X-Men and former Vigil Games creative director, Joe Madureira teases that Darksiders isn’t dead.
The THQ published action-adventure hack and slash game, Darksiders‘ intellectual property was acquired by Nordic Games in April 2013 during THQ’s bankruptcy sale.
During a recent Q&A with fans on his Facebook page, Madureira said, “DS is not dead!!! The new owner, Nordic seems very committed to continuing the series.
As far as my involvement, I can’t say at this point. Hopefully we will all have exciting news about the franchise soon!!!!!!”
The Austrian computer game publisher, Nordic Games GmbH also acquired the remaining properties still owned by THQ, including Red Faction, MX vs. ATV franchises, Supreme Commander, Frontlines, Stuntman, Juiced, Full Spectrum Warrior, Destroy All Humans and few more.
The publisher has yet to announce any formal plans for the future of the series.
Darksiders, originally subtitled Wrath of War was developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. It was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC & Wii U. The series shipped more than 2.5 million copies, as of November 2012.
