Crystal Dynamics confirmed that the Tomb Raider series reboot will extend beyond the upcoming release to include future sequels.

Crystal Dynamics’ global brand director Karl Stewart told VideoGamer: “I have to be careful because I know exactly where she’s going.

“You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game.

“At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”

Stewart wouldn’t be pushed for any more details on the unannounced sequel, though.

“I don’t want to say anymore on it because I’ll have the game director of the next game going ‘what the fuck are you saying!?’

Crystal Dynamics previously confirmed the voice actress of Lara Croft in the new game will be Camilla Luddington.

Tomb Raider releases on March 5, 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
