Irish film, television and stage actor, Ciarán Hinds is set to play the fictional supervillain, Steppenwolf in Justice League, according to TheWrap.

Hinds will put on a mo-cap suit to portray Steppenwolf, his final look in the Justice League will be different from the version we got a glimpse at in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice deleted scene.

Ciarán Hinds is known for his roles in high-profile films such as Road to Perdition, The Sum of All Fears, The Phantom of the Opera, Munich, There Will Be Blood, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, The Woman in Black, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Frozen.

His television roles include Gaius Julius Caesar in the series Rome, DCI James Langton in Above Suspicion, Bud Hammond in Political Animals and Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones.

Steppenwolf appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in New Gods vol. 1 #7 (February 1972).

The film features Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J. K. Simmons as James Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Julian Lewis Jones.

Directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay by Chris Terrio.

Justice League is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
