In Marvel’s comic book version of Captain America, Steve Rogers steps aside from his duties as Captain America and some fans wondered if it will be adapted in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After Marvel’s collaborative screenwriters, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely confirmed that its not gonna happen anytime soon. Now Chis Evans assures that he isn’t ready to give up the shield in a recent interview.

Chris Evans Assures He's Still Captain America 1

Speaking with MTV, Evans was quizzed if Cap might hand off the shield to one of the other characters, he replied: “Who’s handing off the shield? Don’t take my job from me prematurely dude.

I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character.”

He further talks about the plot (in brief) for his upcoming sequel to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America 3, “It’s this giant web of plot, where everything is connected to everything else… that’s the beautiful thing and especially for the fanboys who understand these plotlines. With Cap 3, we’re going to continue this excitement.

Marvel doesn’t disappoint. Whatever you’re hoping for, you’re probably going to get,” he concluded.

Captain America 3 is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016.
