Marvel Studios has finally confirmed that their upcoming American superhero film, untitled Captain America 3 is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016 and it will be directed by the Russo brothers (Anthony Russo & Joe Russo) once again.

Captain America 3 Confirmed For May 2016 Release 1

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has so far $95,023,721 in North America and $207,100,000 in other countries with a worldwide total of $302,123,721, as of April 6, 2014. It shattered the previous April record held by Universal Pictures’ Fast Five.

In the third installment Chris Evans returns as Captain America, Kevin Feige producing and Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely returning to write the screenplay.

Marvel’s Captain America 3 will go against Warner Bros. Pictures’ Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman (Man of Steel 2), setting up a biggest battle against Marvel Studios (Disney) and Warner Bros. (DC Entertainment).

Before Captain America 3 hits theaters, Chris Evans will return as Captain America in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

Previously, Kevin Feige said that “Not every character from every movie is going to be in Age of Ultron.”
