Three Fields Entertainment, the independent studio founded in 2014 by Criterion founders, Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward are working on two new games.

The new studio is currently working on a multiplayer sports game for Spring 2016 release and a driving game, a spiritual successor. with “lots and lots of crashing.”, according to the studio’s tweet.

The original Burnout was being developed under the working title ‘Shiny Red Car’, hence the #ShinyRedSomething hastag in the tweet above.

The Burnout series was first developed for PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game was developed by Criterion Games and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the first two games: Burnout (2001) & Burnout 2: Point of Impact (2002).

And then Electronic Arts took over to publish Burnout 3: Takedown (2004), Burnout Revenge (2005) & Burnout Paradise (2008) for Xbox 360, PS3 & a PC release for first time in the series.

The follow up to Burnout is currently in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the development team is aiming to support virtual reality headsets PlayStation VR & Oculus Rift.
