Oh my god! it’s happening… Marvel is finally making it happen, Black Widow standalone movie starring Scarlett Johansson is currently in early development, according to reports.
Marvel Studios has hired Jac Schaeffer to script the standalone movie, the movie hasn’t got the greenlight yet, but it is in early development, reports Variety.
Jac Schaeffer is known for her feature film debut, TiMER (2009), she wrote upcoming movies Nasty Women, a Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake and is also currently developing The Shower.

President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige met several screenwriters before landing on Schaeffer and Marvel executives met with Scarlett Johansson to discuss the movie.
Variety’s Justin Kroll reveals that the meeting took place around Thanksgiving, “Feige met with Johansson either right before or right after Thanksgiving to talk about direction they wanted to go with this pic before meeting with writers.
Johansson had two meetings with Marvel, the last one being with Feige the week before Xmas, decision was made before the New Year,” he concluded.
Scarlett Johansson made her first appearance as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and since then fans wanted a Black Widow standalone movie and now after over five appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, she will finally get a standalone movie that might be part of the Phase 4 slate.
