DICE released Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion for Xbox 360 and PC, following its PS3 release last week.

Between 4 – 5 am EST, Battlefield 3 servers on the PC and Xbox 360 will be on maintence.  To prepare the servers for the Back to Karkand map pack which is also set to release tommorrow at some point.  DICE has also announced that the corresponding server updates will likely be around the same time that users will be able to access the new content.

On Xbox 360, players can expect to redeem codes and install the new content at around 4 am EST.  PC players with digital purchases will be able to acceess the content at 3 am EST.

Back to Karkand expansion pack remastered for the Frostbite 2 Engine the DLC contains four maps from the franchise: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. It also includes five new dog tags and achievements/trophies, and three new vehicles: the DPV, BTR-90, and F-35B STOVL jet fighter. Also included are 10 “iconic Battlefield weapons,” and a new persistence system where players complete assignments to earn their rewards.

The DLC will be made available for free to those who pre-ordered the game and £11.99 for those who didn’t.
