Bleecker Street debuted the political thriller, Beirut trailer featuring Jon Hamm.
The film has been criticized for exploiting negative stereotypes of Arabs, misrepresenting Lebanese history, and cast white-washing. The political thriller was shot in Morocco and does not have any Lebanese actors.
“Caught in the crossfire of civil war, CIA operatives (Rosamund Pike) send a former U.S. diplomat (Jon Hamm) to negotiate for the life of a friend he left behind.”
Directed by Brad Anderson and written by Tony Gilroy.
