Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to suspend future sales of Batman: Arkham Knight on Steam following the reports of numerous bugs & performance issues with the game.
Fans who purchased the copy of the game have posted over 9,000 negative reviews on Steam.
Here are some from the Steam page:
“This is one of the worst ports I’ve ever seen.
– The framerate is capped at 30FPS
– There are barely any graphical options.
– You can uncap the framerate in an ini file but then the FPS is all over the place even on my Titan X.
– The PS4 version actually looks better(!!!) than the PC one becuase the PC is missing some shaders and effects”
“Terrible port which runs like crap:
- Textures looks way worse than their console counterparts.
- Ambient Occlusion missing on PC port.
- Locked frame rate (30fps)
- PC port developed by third party (12 employees)
This is one of the worst releases I have seen , this should stand as an example of what
happens when you trust a third party company.”
Surprisingly, No significant problems have been reported PS4 & Xbox One versions of the game. As we most of them know, the PC port was outsourced to another studio, Iron Galaxy – who previously worked on the PC port for Warner Bros. Games Montréal’s Batman: Arkham Origins.
Iron Galaxy has previously worked on titles such as BioShock Infinite (PC, OS X, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) Killer Instinct: Season 2 (Xbox One), Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (Xbox One, PlayStation 4) and more.
Warner Bros. has posted a statement on the official website: “Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,
We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards.
We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.
Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (support.wbgames.com).
If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds) or the retail location where you purchased the game.
The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played.”
