Ubisoft’s upcoming action-adventure open world game, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will allow you to explore the whole world it offers, according to creative director, Jean Guesdon.
Speaking with OXM, Guesdon says, “A Pirate-set game allow you to explore the whole world it offers, to feel like a true pirate sailing the Caribbean seas? Yes, it should.
So we are definitely structuring the main path in order to make it possible to give the tools and the world to the player fairly early on in the game.”
When asked if ACIV: Black Flag will be slow narrative just like Assassin’s Creed III, to that Guesdon said:
“For us, it all comes down to the fact that this game takes place in a pirate setting. Should a pirate-set game start off with a bang? Yes, it should… so we are making sure our game puts you right in the middle of the action from the get go.”
When asked if they changed Black Flag’s combat system, he says “The same fundamental Assassin’s Creed combat is still there – we are not making any changes to the combat system per se, but we are adding ingredients to it that will definitely change the dynamics.
As you may have noticed, Edward can carry up to four pistols. Each one of these pistols can be quick-fired mid-combo to dispatch up to four enemies. We have also added free-aiming for all the firearms, a first for the franchise.”
