New rumours suggests that the next “major Assassin’s Creed” game Ubisoft has been teasing is set in Egypt…which actually ties into something that’s revealed in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
According to the new issue of PSM3 magazine, which states in its rumour section that the 2012 sequel could use the setting for “at least part of the game.”
The north African nation has been long-pegged as the location for the third full game in the series, The image below “represents an Assassin imagined by the artist and was created for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia”.
It was originally introduced by UbiWorkshop as a teaser image for the launch of the website. Despite what it looks like though it’s part of a comic book collaboration from back before Brotherhood was released last year and there’s no proof it has anything to do with an actual game.
*** SPOILER WARNING ***
At the end of the Revelations, Altaïr’s son Darim mentions he’s taken some of the Assassin’s books to hide in Alexandria, capital of Egypt.
Ubisoft has already said that a new Assassin’s Creed game, rounding off Desmond’s story, will release next year; it’s expected Assassin’s Creed 3 will follow that.
Maybe Assassin’s Creed III will feature multiple time settings from across history and Egypt is just one?
