Sony’s PlayStation 4 has been leading the sales chart since the launch and Microsoft’s Xbox One is “catching up quickly”, according to EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen.

“Clearly Sony has jumped out to a lead with a great console and I think a great pricing strategy,” Jorgensen said at UBS Global Technology Conference (via Gamasutra), [but] “Microsoft is catching up quickly.”

EA: Xbox One Is Catching Up Quickly To PlayStation 4 1

“Pricing actions that are taking place, particularly within this Christmas season, driven by Microsoft around reductions plus a lot of bundled software, I think will continue to help pull the consumer into the new consoles.”

PS4 has a significant lead over Xbox One with over 13.5 million sold as of September 2015 & Xbox One has shipped over 10 million consoles to retail.

Jorgensen estimates that the installed base for PS4 & Xbox One will be “north of 25 million” following the Christmas holiday season.
