EA officially confirmed Battlefield 4 is in development, but they didn’t reveal anything about Battlefield 4.

As was previously leaked, The limited edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will come with beta access to Battlefield 4.

Battlefield 4 beta will be available in autumn 2013, EA’s confirmed, with additional details regarding the game itself set to be revealed at a later date.

“Though Battlefield and Medal of Honor: Warfighter each offer players a completely unique experience,” said Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels, “they are united by their underlying technology base – Frostbite. These are two of the hottest shooters, coming together to deliver a one-two punch of action, intensity, and shooter entertainment.”

This announcement gives credence to the theory that EA plans to switch each year between a Medal of Honor game and a Battlefield game.

In addition, Medal of Honor: Warfighter will also use “the free social network, Battlelog.”

Battlelog is a social network service that lets users track their stats and compare their gameplay habits with friends. The service was introduced alongside last year’s Battlefield 3.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is expected to hit store shelves in October 23rd for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and potentially, the Wii U.
