Sony finally unveiled PlayStation 4 at its PlayStation Meeting held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.
Sony Computer Entertainment president and Group CEO, Andrew House took the stage to unveil the next generation console to the world.
PS4’s new wireless controller ‘DualShock 4’ features enhanced analog sticks, improved rumble, lower latency, a new touchpad, headphone jack, and lightbar to be used in conjunction with new camera peripheral.
PS4 features two teraflops of performance, based on PC architecture, 8GB of system memory.
It supports suspend and resume game sessions, giving you the freedom to continue your game at the exact spot you left off. A secondary custom chip makes it possible to download and upload in the background, with games playable even whilst still downloading.
Gaikai on PS4 will have the ability to instantly stream demos, stream live game videos with a press of the share button. Friends will be able to comment directly on our screens, and even take control of the game.
PS4 allows you to transfer the games you are playing via Remote Play over to PS Vita instantly. Backwards compatibility via Gaikai will offer PS1, PS2 and PS3 games on any device.
PS4 launch titles shown at the presentation are Killzone Shadow Fall from Guerrilla Games, Drive Club from Evolution, inFamous Second Son from Sucker Punch, and Jonathan Blow’s new ip ‘The Witness’.

So it has a pause button?
Trust me, I'm know you're not the only person who thought that same thing. LOL! I know I thought it… But I'm certain they meant something a bit different. Still, it does sound like a pause button. XD
i believe he meant being able to turn the console completely off and when you turn it back on, be in the same spot in your game almost instantly
it must be something along the lines of a Nintendo DS, where the point where you close the screen becomes the point of continuation.
it puts the ps4 into a sleep or hibernate mode to save energy so you dont actually turn off the system but your not wasting electricity leaving it on untill you come back later
PSP Go had that, where you pause it- then do whatever you want (even turn it off) and Resume where you left off.
Yay this means the new XBOX isn't far behind to blow this out of the water LoL…(I just wanted to be that irritating guy to start that up for once)
That is indeed irritating :p PS4 ftw! :p Sorry i had to be the guy who first respond to this :p No hard feelings thoug, i never had an Xbox just becausse i didn't feel the need for it, but i think it is a good console, i just had always a playstation :-D and i always will have!
Wait wait wait, I thought PS4 wasn't having backwards compatibility? omg if it DOES indeed have it, that will be awesome, it's one thing that was pissing me off about the PS4
