Battlefield 3 upcoming DLC announcement coming up next week, EA suggested during an overnight call with investors.
Speaking during EA’s quarterly conference call previous day, and responding to a question regarding the publisher’s DLC strategy, vice president of investor relations Peter Ausnit said (via Seeking Alpha):
“We’ve got plans for all of our major franchises to turn them into more of… games for service that have a constant flow of downloadable content. You’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York.”
The timing of this news fits in nicely alongside the rumor last week that Battlefield 3 could be seeing a new expansion by the beginning of the summer, Recent rumours suggest it would be an All American expansion pack, which would include new maps based on Miami, New Jersey, San Francisco and New York, but there was no credible source named.
Recently EA said that both FIFA 12 and Battlefield 3 have hit 10 million sales since launch and EA also claims the Battlefield 3 now holds 24% of its genre market.
