Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has put all the rumors of Final Fantasy Versus XIII to rest.

He took to Twitter to describe that all the rumors are hoax and Final Fantasy Versus XIII is very much alive and still in production.

Wada also said he attended a regular meeting on the RPG’s progress earlier today, and that fans would be very surprised to see how the game is shaping up; he specifically pointed out the city setting of the game.

“Seems that guy is playing a hoax Versus What has been canceled. Toko the end of the regular meeting Versus right now .. giggle. If you look back ~ w De~e Nanzo skip town has been presented today”

Final Fantasy Versus XIII was unveiled over six years ago at E3 2006, the game is a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy series.

The game focuses on the mysterious Noctis Lucis Caelum, the last heir of a dynasty ruling over the only remaining city to control crystals. Under unforeseen circumstances, he makes a stand against opposing kingdoms seeking to take the crystal as their own.

We may hear more on September 1 at the publisher’s stage show to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy in Tokyo, Japan.
