Yates reveals, Alien: Covenant is set “10 years in the future beyond Prometheus.”

Looks like the movie is gonna be a soft reboot and it will refocus on the Alien franchise following mixed reactions to Prometheus (2012).

Prometheus was set in 2093, taking place in the same universe as the ‘Alien’ movies. 28 years before the events of 1979 science-fiction horror film, Alien.

The film features Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, Michael Fassbender as David and Katherine Waterston as Daniels.

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Directed by Ridley Scott & screenplay by Jack Paglen and Michael Green.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on October 6, 2017.
